Our Bush Kinder Program.

Sandon Point Children’s Centre runs regular bush kinder sessions where we visit our local reserves to enjoy the beautiful natural spaces in our community. These outdoor sessions allow children to engage in a variety of activities, scenarios and demonstrations not typically available in the four walls of a classroom. In addition, children who learn outdoors improve their nature-literacy, becoming more confident and empathetic towards the natural world. Shifting the classroom outdoors will help children connect with nature and give them the opportunity to to run, jump, explore and learn.

Research shows that it is beneficial for their physical and mental health. Children who learn outdoors are less disruptive, show improved social skills, motor skills and physical health, and develop resilience, self-awareness, self-esteem and independence.
